Presentation Schedule and Letter to Parents
ATTN: 10th Grade students -
TENTATIVE - Student Presentation Dates are subject to change. Please check for Final scheduling on Friday, June 2.
Family and Friends,
It is finally that time! Your 10th-grade students have been working so hard this year! We have reached the crucial moment where students will have the opportunity to showcase the academic and personal growth through their Portfolio Defense presentations. For the Portfolio Defense project, students identified one dimension from the Emery High School Graduate Profile in which they grew the most. Students were asked to choose two culminating projects from any of their classes to be used as evidence to prove this growth. The Portfolio Defense presentation will give students an opportunity to articulate and showcase their academic and personal growth by making these connections and framing the big picture for their teacher, peers, and audience members.
As a way to celebrate this milestone, I would like to invite you to your student’s presentation. The dates and times are below, but please keep in mind that times may fluctuate to some degree. Be mindful that other students will be presenting that day and thus, your patience will be much appreciated.
There is no need to RSVP. So, if you are willing and able, please come to Room D-203 to celebrate your student’s Portfolio Defense!
Students have been working on this project for over 5 weeks and, like other culminating projects, this project is worth 50% of their semester two grade. Students should expect to dress in professional attire and be well rehearsed. Time will be given in class to finalize their slideshow and practice in front of their peers.
